The maize corn crop, which is now said to be ‘the worst for 20 years’ is apparently not at the end of its decline, with further dryness forecasted for the end of the week.
They add that as the crop was planted earlier than normal this year, many of the plants are now at a stage in their development when the damage can no longer really be reversed – especially given the current forecast.
The situation is also being described as ‘no better’ for the soybean crop.
Perhaps we won’t be seeing those record yields after all….
